There are many types of roll forming machines, which can be distinguished according to its structure. Commonly used are cantilever roll forming machines, double-end roll forming machines, standard roll forming machines, and double-layer roll forming machines. Quick-change roll forming machine. Let us introduce their respective structural characteristics, and what are their advantages and disadvantages.

Cantilever roll forming machine.

For some simple shapes, the cantilever roll forming machine is a very common one. The shaft of the cantilever forming machine is only supported by the wall panel on one side, and the other side is suspended. It is usually used in the forming of some profiles with simple cross-sections or unilateral profiles.

Advantages: low cost, simple installation, and the edge bending of any width of the plate can be easily achieved.

Disadvantages: Because there is only a single screw adjustment, the gap between the left and right sides of the forming roller is not easy to adjust evenly, and it is not suitable for the production of plates with high precision requirements. Because only one side is stressed, too thick plates cannot be formed.

Double-end roll forming machine.

The double-end roll forming machine is relatively installed by two sets of forming rolls, and their foundation and drive are shared. The double-end molding machine can be made a movable one, so that it can produce products with different widths. The minimum material width that can be produced is determined by the closest distance that the forming rolls on both sides can move. The maximum material width is determined by the maximum distance that the two rolls can move away. They can be made one fixed, the other movable, or movable on both sides. A movable molding machine, the center line of the profile will change as the product width changes. The center lines of the two movable forming machines remain unchanged and are suitable for the profiles that cannot be changed with other auxiliary processing center lines. The width adjustment method can be designed to be manual or adjusted with a servo motor.

Advantages: It can produce products with different width sections, which can be adjusted at will. For a variety of products with the same shape and different width, the use of this structure of the molding machine is an ideal way, which can save the cost of equipment purchase for the enterprise and can also reduce the occupied area of the plant.

Disadvantages: high processing difficulty, high installation requirements, and high production cost of a single machine. Not suitable for producing high-precision profiles. It cannot be used to produce profiles that are too thick and too strong.

Standard Roll Forming Machine

Standard roll forming machine is a commonly used design method. Generally, the frame on the drive side is the shaft positioning side, which is used to provide power. The operating side is the other end of the support shaft, and the operating side is movable, which makes it easy to replace the roller.

Advantages: the processing requirements are not high, the production cost of the whole machine is low, and it can be used for the production of high-strength profiles.

Disadvantages: Can not produce multi-section profiles, usually used for the production of fixed width products.
